On Thursday afternoon, the whole of Farnborough Hill gathered on the fields to take part in our annual Inter-House Sports Afternoon and enjoy being outside in the sun with friends.  The day began with Lucy’s Loop, a relay around the grounds in memory of our Old Girl Lucy Pygott, which involved girls from every Year Group.  This was followed by a wide variety of events, ranging from high jump to shot put, sprints and long-distance runs.  It was great to see the effort that the girls put in, and all their smiley faces.  There was a great turnout from supportive parents, cheering the girls on, along with a few furry friends wagging their tails with unbounded enthusiasm!

Each House had strong representatives in every event, displaying talent and hard work throughout the School.  To help the girls along, there were some food stalls for everyone, including ice cream, popcorn, slushies and candy floss.  Unsurprisingly these were very popular, evident by the long queues!  The event was finished with some (friendly) competition between the Sixth Form students and teachers, in a relay race and tug of war.  Unfortunately, not due to a lack of effort, the sixth formers did not succeed in beating the undefeated teachers team in either events.  However, it was a great way to finish off such an eventful afternoon, with everyone getting involved and cheering them on!

Here are the final results:

A special thank you to the PE Department and the sixth formers who worked behind the scenes, making sure events ran smoothly and everyone had a good time.  And a special shout-out to Charlotte (L6WIN) for her witty and pun-filled commentary throughout the afternoon.  It was lovely to have everyone out together, enjoying a fun and well-deserved afternoon off lessons, as we near the end of term. Well done to everyone who took part, as this event would not have been possible without the energy and enthusiasm you all put in.  Farnborough Hill spirit is alive and loud!
