Farnborough Hill's Cross Country runners blazed a trail of success at the Aldershot and District Schools Championships held at the School on Monday 10 February. Despite the chilly conditions and a few tumbles along the way, the Junior Girls (Years 7 and 8) teams delivered impressive performances, achieving some remarkable individual and team results. Thankfully, the weather held out – a welcome change from last year's downpour!

Congratulations to Eliza (8α) on her commanding victory in the U14 2400m race, and to Elodie (7α) who also took 1st place in the U13 2100m race. Olivia (7A) further contributed to the School's success with a strong 3rd place finish in the same race.

The girls who finished in the Top 20 are selected to represent the District at the Hampshire Schools which in the older Year Groups then leads onto the English Schools. We had five of our runners qualify for the County Championships taking place on Tuesday 4 March, with some others selected to be on standby.

These individual triumphs contributed to a strong team showing, with Farnborough Hill finishing 2nd overall in the U13 age group and a respectable third in the U14 category. Well done to all the girls who competed!
