National Careers Week transformed our school into a hub of possibility! It has been great to see so many pupils getting involved. We especially enjoyed reading the diverse answers pupils gave to the question 'In the future I aspire to be...' From veterinary surgeons and neurosurgeons to prime ministers, the sheer range of dreams within a single Form Group was incredible.

Pupils participated in lunchtime drop-in sessions to explore the National Careers Week Virtual Fair, gaining insights into various career pathways, including NHS routes, Degree Apprenticeships and Green Careers. The sessions emphasised the importance of developing key transferable skills and Year 7 especially loved learning more about careers in air traffic control.

Our Senior School completed careers-related PSHEE sessions, and the Upper School Careers Assembly, prepared and presented by Anna (L6HVK) and Freya (L6ASM), featured two of our new Alumnae Spotlights films, featuring Sophie Farrelly (2019) and Phoebe Farrelly (2023). The films highlighted the diverse opportunities open to all our girls. The Farrelly sisters perfectly illustrate this, each carving their own path with Farnborough Hill confidence. Hear their stories below.

In our Lower School Careers Assembly, Old Girl, Phoebe Minson (2018) returned to share some invaluable careers advice and reflections. Phoebe is External Affairs and Communications Lead at SHiFT UK and a Creative Coach.

Phoebe highlighted the importance of continuous learning, not limiting yourself, embracing challenges, and finding joy in every experience. She also delivered some powerful messages on crucial life skills such as effective time-management and the importance of not fearing failure.

CV Workshops were also a feature during Careers Week, in which pupils could further develop their CV. It was really heartening to see how many pupils have already had valuable experiences of the world of work to include. From volunteering and work experience to paid regular or summer work, many pupils had an impressive list! These experiences really help pupils to develop their transferable skills for the future.

Not wanting to miss out, our ever-supportive alumnae shared their top tips and careers advice to our pupils.
