Roald Dahl's classic tale Matilda never fails to please, with its themes of magic and rebellion.

A band of elite actors from Years 7, 8 and 9 have now begun to bring this tale to life, in presenting Tim Minchin’s musical stage adaptation.

Rehearsing on a Tuesday lunchtime and evening, they are using their focus, imagination and skill to bring the words and music from the page to theatrical life.

They are learning the well-loved songs and producing audible magic with our own excellent Mr Patrick Martin, and creating stunning dance and movement with the wonderful Miss Sian Turner, who returns to us after her amazing work on The Addams Family last year.

With every rehearsal the characters emerge, and together we manifest the iconic scenes using rhythms, patterns and shapes. Expectations are building towards our opening on Wednesday 30 April. Watch this space; the tickets are sure to be in demand!

"I am really excited to be in Matilda and I am most excited to see all the costumes that I get to wear. I think all the singing and dancing is so entertaining and fun to watch and be a part of!"

Ella (8ω)

"I am most looking forward to acting in the middle of the audience as I'm finding it really interesting learning how to interact with an audience in that way."
