This week, our sixth formers were invited to attend the first two of three networking breakfasts. A new initiative this year, the breakfasts offer students the chance to practice their networking skills and learn more from our Old Girls about the art of networking and the value it can bring to both our personal and professional lives.
Our alumnae have a diverse range of backgrounds and industry experience and so were able to offer practical tips on building strong relationships and navigating professional settings with confidence. Key themes were the importance of active listening, asking thoughtful questions and following up after initial connections. Students were able to ask questions, gain practical tips and learn from first hand accounts of how networking can open doors to exciting opportunities.
Our sixth formers were incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from such experienced professionals and gain knowledge that will undoubtedly benefit them as they embark on their university and career journeys.
We extend our sincere thanks to our alumnae who generously gave their time this week and next Monday as they return for a final session.
