This term, we have had the pleasure of hosting two Music Soirées in St Cecilia's. The first took place on Monday 22 January and featured pianists and flautists taught by Mr Cartledge.  The audience was treated to a wide range of musical styles from a toe-tapping jazz piano played by Music Scholar Samantha (8B) to an inspiring virtuosic flute performance by Music Captain Gemma (U6CSK).  Thank you to Mr Cartledge for preparing the pupils for the concert; without the incredible expertise of our peripatetic Music teachers, accomplished performances such as these would not be possible.

The second Soirée took place on Wednesday 21 February.  The evening included a spellbinding performance of Albeniz' 'Asturias (Leyenda) by Emma (9B) on guitar and a moving performance of Strauss' Nocturno by Music Scholar Isobel (L6MCB) on the French horn.  The Year 9 band, led by Music Scholar Jessica (9ω), closed the concert with an atmospheric and edgy performance of Adele's Skyfall.

It was a delight to see pupils from across all Year Groups performing and supporting each other at both events.

We hope to see many of you at our Easter Concert on Monday 25 March, the theme of which is numbers!  Please see the poster below for further details.
