Since the start of September, a cast of 25 talented and intrepid young actors have been rehearsing for the Senior School Production, Coram Boy, which will open at Farnborough Hill in March 2025. A gothic tale of unimaginable intrigue and fast paced action, this epic tale has been dramatised from Jamala Gavin’s novel by Helen Edmundson.

The setting and backdrop of 18th century England offers a tale of two cities – Gloucester and London – and centres on the tale of two orphans at the Coram Hospital for Foundling Children. Underpinning the dark plot is stunning music with some extracts from George Frideric Handel and additional haunting music in the same style. The cast are being trained to perfect their choral voices under the expertise of our Director of Music, Mr Joseph Adams.

In addition to the cast, we have an expert technical team headed up by Sixth Form students Bethan (U6MAC) and Emma (U6MCB), who have set to work on designing the lighting and sound to provide an immersive experience of 18th century England as audiences enter the performance space.

We are confident this production will not disappoint, and we cannot wait to share more with you anon.
