On Tuesday evening, the Year 11 GCSE Music pupils took to the stage for a Music Soirée, a prelude to their upcoming solo recordings. St Cecilia's was abuzz with anticipation as the talented musicians prepared to showcase their hard work and dedication. The performances were as diverse as the instruments themselves, with vocalists soaring through songs from beloved musical theatre productions, including two pupils' heartfelt renditions from the popular animated film Anastasia. We were also treated to a violinist's masterful interpretation of George Frideric Handel's timeless melodies which captivated the audience, while the cornet, clarinet, and saxophone added their unique voices to the musical tapestry.
Behind the scenes, the tireless efforts of Mr Adams, Mr Martin and Dr Taylor were instrumental in preparing the young musicians for this occasion. A big thank you to them for rehearsing with and accompanying the pupils for their performances.
