It was a pleasure and a privilege on Thursday evening to speak to so many Year 11s and their families about life in the sixth form on the hill. Mrs Zoe Ireland spoke passionately about the opportunities and joys of Sixth Form life, invoking Bobby Kennedy’s assertion that all things may be measured, save that which is worthwhile.
Many of those immeasurably worthwhile elements of Sixth Form life were expounded by current Head Girl, Suhana (U6WIN), and by Old Girl, Bryony Hibbard Jenkins (2019), who spoke of the leadership opportunities, social life and personalised support that have been part of their own individual journeys.
The girls then had the chance to hear some Sixth Form teachers waxing lyrical about their subjects. Pupils attended sessions on all the subjects they are interested in taking at A level. They were able to ask questions and hear from current sixth formers and recent Old Girls on their experience of the subject at Farnborough Hill.
In between these sessions, families could explore the other elements of Sixth Form life such as EPQ, Enrichment, RE-Act, Careers, DofE Gold, CAFOD Young Leaders and the flats to name but a few!
It was an incredibly informative and exciting evening; thank you to all who attended.
